With a few of the USB to NAS adapters surfaced in the market, NAS (Network Attached Storage) manufacturers may face a challenge for their NAS products. If you’re one who opts for physical size of a device rather than the performance and features, surely, getting a USB to NAS adapter is a better choice for you than getting a real NAS device, which will take up more space.

I-O data should have realized the physical size of a NAS does matter these days. Therefore, they’ve produced their new HDLP-G Landisk NAS, which has had its height shrunk down to 26mm only. It’ll be more or less like the thickness of an external USB hard drive enclosure. This should probably help save some space, at least it will not block your view, while it’s placed on a desk or a shelf with the little thickness (or height).

The entire dimensions of the I-O Data’s are only 126mm x 130mm x 26mm. It’s available in 250GB, 320GB and 500GB of storage capacities. And it’s DNLA compatible so you can hook it up to DNLA-enabled devices. The 500GB model is priced at around 23000 Yen ($235) in Japan.
