GPS Asthma Inhaler

Photobucket

A GPS-enabled asthma inhaler is being built by Deapartment of Health Sciences of the University of Wiconsin-Madison, which is able to help track the recurring asthma attack outbreaks.

The asthma inhaler is equipped with a GPS receiver which can then tell the exact location of the asthmatics, every time when they use their rescue inhalers. By collecting the information of the location where they are, when asthma attacks, researchers will then be able to find out from the location, what actually triggers the asthma attacks. For example a frequent asthma attacks at a local park could mean an excess of allergens and pet dander.
