KTF CW100 R/C Vacuum Cleaner
KTF, the mobile operator in South Korea, has introduced a vacuum cleaner robot, CW100, which is remotely controllable using a 3G mobile phone.
The mobile-controlled vacuum cleaner will be able to free up more time for housewives, so they could be wandering shopping malls while at the same time keeping their home free from dust remotely. The CW100 vacuum cleaner uses video calling to send live images to 3G mobile phone. So, the user is able to see what the robot sees, and able to control the robot’s actions by using the keypad of the mobile phone.
The CW100 robot can also be used for monitoring kids, elders or pets at home. This bot will cost 500,000 KRW ($370) and it’s sold together with a 3G data plan for 5,000 KRW ($3.7) per month. And it can be controlled only via mobile phones that support 3G video calls. KTF also has plan to export the CW100 vacuum cleaning robot to France through a partnership with France Telecom.
